Our Story:

Farmerville First Assembly of God has seen steady growth since its humble beginnings some 67 years ago. Church planter and Pastor, Bro. T.W. Wagnon and family moved to Farmerville in the early 1940’s to answer a call from God to start an Assembly Of God church in downtown Farmerville. The first few years the church held services in a tent that was located two blocks off of Main Street. In 1944 the church applied for its Articles of Incorporation and soon afterward moved into a small building at the corner of East Green and North East Street. Bro.Wagnon served as pastor until his death in 1968.

Under the direction of Pastor Byron Boykin in the early 1980’s the church grew to a point that a new sanctuary, class rooms, and fellowship hall were needed to assist with the church growth. A 3 acre parcel of ground was purchased and a new worship center was constructed at 920 South Main Street. (The church on the hill as it would come to be known)

In the late 1990’s under the leadership of Pastor Bill Bearden the church grew to a point that another sanctuary was needed to facilitate the church growth. A 500 seat sanctuary was constructed behind the old sanctuary and was dedicated to the Lord on Easter of the year 2000. Since that time the old sanctuary has been converted to a Youth and Children Worship Center along with our Church Educational Department. (We are still the church on the hill)

In July 2009, Farmerville First Assembly elected its current Pastor Robbie Lawson who is a minister in his mid 40's and is passionate about reaching the lost. He has served this congregation as Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Associate Pastor for the past 12 years.

We would like to invite you to visit, and perhaps come be a part of the plans God has for us in reaching our community for Jesus Christ.
